Ingredients
- 3 strips bacon, chopped
- 1 lb extra lean ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup diced dill pickles
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 8 pickle slices
- 1/4 white onion, sliced into rings
- 4 pieces green leaf lettuce
Preparation
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bacon, and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is golden and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Remove the bacon from the pan and set it aside.
In the same skillet, add the onion. Cook, stirring, until it begins to soften, about 3 minutes. Stir in the garlic and ground beef. Cook the beef, breaking it up using the side of a spoon, until it is no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Stir in the ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook, stirring occasionally, until it begins to reduce, about 3 minutes. Stir in the bacon, pickles, and shredded cheddar.
Serve immediately topped with the cheese, tomato, pickles, onion, and lettuce or store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
