Ingredients
Cauliflower Crust
- 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
Pizza
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 green pepper, sliced
- 1/4 red onion, sliced
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
In a steamer basket, steam the cauliflower oven 1 inch of boiling water until it very tender.
Place the steamed cauliflower into a food processor. Pulse until it is finely ground.
Using a clean kitchen towel, squeeze out as much moisture as possible.
Transfer the cauliflower to a large bowl and add cheeses, egg, Italian seasoning and salt and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.
Transfer the mixture to a pizza pan or baking sheet and press it into a circle.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the crust begins to brown.
To assemble pizza, add tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, and the toppings of your choice.
Return to oven and bake until cheese has melted and crust is golden, about 5 minutes.
Serve immediately.
